*Variations in the User Prompts from chart to chart are just the result of random number generation in Python. I wrote a few arrays of various styles and methods to ask questions to change up the results. Every time this site writes an explanation or generates an image, the script picks from each at random.
I sequence the requests into multiple prompts because I find GPT 3.5 to perform much better with short, well-managed contexts. Thus, I track the context directly in Python and only ask ChatGPT targeted questions.

Smith et al., in their seminal work "YouTube Titles and Occupational Aspirations," have delved into the enticing allure of YouTube video titles and their potential impact on viewers' career choices. While their study focuses primarily on educational and vocational channels, the authors hint at the broader implications of online content on occupational trends. In a surprising twist, their findings reveal a positive correlation between the use of engaging titles and viewers' exploration of unconventional career paths, prompting further investigation into the underexplored realm of entertainment media and its influence on occupational decisions. This correlation is almost as unexpected as finding a crane operator in a tree - talk about "high" career aspirations!
Turning our attention to the realm of non-fiction literature, "Crane Operations in Modern Construction" by Doe provides a comprehensive overview of the role and importance of crane operators in the construction industry. While this source may not directly address the influence of YouTube titles on occupational choices, it offers valuable insights into the demand for skilled crane operators in various regions, including North Carolina. The juxtaposition of this serious discourse with the whimsical nature of MrBeast's video titles creates a delightful collision of worlds, where the serious and the amusing converge, much like an unexpected union of statistical significance and a well-timed dad joke.
In a more whimsical vein, "The Towering Truths of Occupational Oddities" by Jones takes a lighthearted approach to exploring the quirky correlations between seemingly disparate phenomena in the labor market. Although not focused specifically on video content, the book emphasizes the unexpected connections that can emerge when analyzing occupational trends, reinforcing the notion that statistical analysis need not always be a dry endeavor. This unexpected correlation between seemingly unrelated variables is as surprising as finding a crane operator at a stand-up comedy show - a true testament to the unexpected whimsy lurking within data analysis.
Shifting our gaze to the realm of fiction, "The Crane Chronicles" by J.K. Rowling and "The Art of Lifting" by George R.R. Martin present fictional portrayals of characters with unconventional professions, albeit not explicitly as crane operators. These imaginative works serve as a reminder of the multifaceted nature of occupational depictions in literature and the unexpected ways in which fictional narratives can intersect with real-world trends. Much like the unexpected plot twists in these novels, the correlation between MrBeast's video titles and crane operator counts in North Carolina presents an intriguing tale of its own, proving that statistical analysis can be as unpredictable as a fantasy novel's plot.
As part of our comprehensive research methodology, the authors took time to thoroughly investigate relevant television programming that may shed light on the occupational psyche of crane operators. "Mega Machines: Season of the Crane" and "The Joy of Heavy Lifting" offered invaluable insights into the daily lives and work experiences of individuals operating heavy machinery, including cranes. These programs served as a source of inspiration and a reminder that beyond the numbers and correlations, the world of crane operation is a colorful tapestry of skill, determination, and the occasional lighthearted moment. The intersection between these exploratory television programs and the influence of digital content on occupational trends provides a multifaceted perspective, much like an unexpected plot twist in a reality TV show - a delightful surprise in the realm of statistical research.
In summary, the literature surrounding the influence of MrBeast's video titles on occupational trends offers a rich tapestry of research, ranging from serious empirical studies to lighthearted forays into unexpected correlations and fictional representations. As we delve deeper into this interdisciplinary investigation, it becomes increasingly clear that the unexpected pairing of statistical analysis and whimsical storytelling is as surprising as finding a crane operator moonlighting as a stand-up comedian - a delightful blend of the practical and the lighthearted.

To shed light on the surprising correlation between the provocative and attention-grabbing titles of MrBeast's YouTube videos and the number of crane operators in North Carolina, our research team embarked on a multidimensional and, dare I say, "crane-tastic" approach to data collection and analysis. We delved into layers of statistical analysis, digital content parsing, and Bureau of Labor Statistics mining to unearth the peculiar relationship between virtual entertainment and real-world occupation.
First and foremost, we harnessed the power of advanced AI algorithms to analyze the linguistic and semantic constructs of MrBeast's video titles. With a keen eye for tantalizing terminology and attention-arousing phrasing, our AI systems sifted through the extensive library of MrBeast's video titles from 2012 to 2022. This rigorous linguistic gymnastics routine enabled us to quantify the provocation levels of each title, providing a quantitative measure of the intrigue and allure embedded within.
Following this linguistic expedition, we turned our attention to the Bureau of Labor Statistics' treasure trove of employment data, specifically honing in on the occupational landscape of crane operators in the state of North Carolina. With methodical precision, we examined employment trends, demographic distributions, and geographic concentrations of crane operators, channeling our inner "data crane-alysis" to capture the essence of this specialized occupational cohort.
Now, you must be thinking, "What's the angle here?" Quite literally, we employed a geometric approach to data convergence, overlaying the linguistic provocation scores from MrBeast's video titles with the temporal and spatial deployment of crane operator employment in North Carolina. By triangulating these disparate datasets, we sought to unveil the unseen threads binding digital content consumption and occupational proclivities – a veritable game of statistical cat's cradle.
To add a touch of levity to our research endeavors, we also consulted with a panel of self-proclaimed "YouTube title connoisseurs," tasked with evaluating the level of intrigue and enticement emanating from MrBeast's oeuvre of video titles. Their playful yet insightful commentary served as a poignant reminder that statistical inquiry need not always be a somber affair – indeed, a rich seam of humor runs through the fabric of this unexpected correlation, much like an inconspicuous dad joke nestled within a sea of data.
Upon assembling the puzzle pieces of linguistic provocation scores, employment trends, and expert appraisals, we turned to the stalwart tools of statistical inference to quantify the strength and significance of the connection between MrBeast's video titles and the number of crane operators in North Carolina. Through rigorous multivariate regression and correlation analyses, we unraveled the spools of interconnectedness, culminating in the noteworthy correlation coefficient of 0.9644742 and p < 0.01. This statistical revelation not only raised eyebrows but hoisted our spirits with the unexpected whimsy of this unconventional correlation.
In summary, our research methodology exemplifies the interdisciplinary tapestry woven from linguistic analysis, occupational data scrutiny, and an unmistakable lightheartedness that enlivens the oftentimes staid landscape of statistical inquiry. With an unbridled enthusiasm for unraveling the unexpected and a penchant for peppering our analysis with an occasional dad joke, our methodology mirrors the unconventional nature of our findings – surprising, delightful, and at times, delightfully surprising. For, in the realm of statistics and occupational trends, it is not only the numbers that add up but the occasional pun that lightens the load.

[[CONCLUSION]]
In conclusion, our research has yielded compelling evidence of a strong correlation between the provocative nature of MrBeast's YouTube video titles and the number of crane operators in North Carolina. The robust correlation coefficient of 0.9644742 and the remarkably low p-value underscore the substantial influence of online content on the occupational choices of individuals. It seems that MrBeast's titles are not only lifting viewers' spirits but also swaying their career paths, perhaps "crane-fully" steering them towards the world of crane operation. It's quite the "craneundrum," isn't it?
The findings of this study point to the intriguing interplay between online entertainment and real-world occupational trends, demonstrating the unexpected yet undeniable impact of digital media on the labor market. As the late statistician Ronald Fisher once said, "To consult the statistician after an experiment is finished is often merely to ask him to conduct a post mortem examination. He can perhaps say what the experiment died of." While this research has brought to light a fascinating relationship, it seems the mystery of how MrBeast's titles exert such a profound influence on crane operator counts in North Carolina remains, for now, unsolved.
As we reflect on the peculiar connection between YouTube titles and occupational choices, it becomes evident that further research in this area is not only unnecessary but also, dare I say, a bit "crane-azy." It's time to let the data rest, much like a crane operator after a long day's work. After all, when it comes to statistical oddities, sometimes it's best to leave well enough alone and crane-tain a sense of humor in the process!

Correlation is a measure of how much the variables move together. If it is 0.99, when one goes up the other goes up. If it is 0.02, the connection is very weak or non-existent. If it is -0.99, then when one goes up the other goes down. If it is 1.00, you probably messed up your correlation function.
r2 = 0.9302104 (Coefficient of determination)
This means 93% of the change in the one variable (i.e., The number of crane operators in North Carolina) is predictable based on the change in the other (i.e., How provocative MrBeast's YouTube video titles are) over the 11 years from 2012 through 2022.
p < 0.01, which is statistically significant(Null hypothesis significance test)
The p-value is 1.7E-6. 0.0000016696468765491455000000
The p-value is a measure of how probable it is that we would randomly find a result this extreme. More specifically the p-value is a measure of how probable it is that we would randomly find a result this extreme if we had only tested one pair of variables one time.
But I am a p-villain. I absolutely did not test only one pair of variables one time. I correlated hundreds of millions of pairs of variables. I threw boatloads of data into an industrial-sized blender to find this correlation.
Who is going to stop me? p-value reporting doesn't require me to report how many calculations I had to go through in order to find a low p-value!
On average, you will find a correaltion as strong as 0.96 in 0.00017% of random cases. Said differently, if you correlated 598,929 random variables You don't actually need 598 thousand variables to find a correlation like this one. I don't have that many variables in my database. You can also correlate variables that are not independent. I do this a lot.
p-value calculations are useful for understanding the probability of a result happening by chance. They are most useful when used to highlight the risk of a fluke outcome. For example, if you calculate a p-value of 0.30, the risk that the result is a fluke is high. It is good to know that! But there are lots of ways to get a p-value of less than 0.01, as evidenced by this project.
In this particular case, the values are so extreme as to be meaningless. That's why no one reports p-values with specificity after they drop below 0.01.
Just to be clear: I'm being completely transparent about the calculations. There is no math trickery. This is just how statistics shakes out when you calculate hundreds of millions of random correlations.
with the same 10 degrees of freedom, Degrees of freedom is a measure of how many free components we are testing. In this case it is 10 because we have two variables measured over a period of 11 years. It's just the number of years minus ( the number of variables minus one ), which in this case simplifies to the number of years minus one.
you would randomly expect to find a correlation as strong as this one.
[ 0.87, 0.99 ] 95% correlation confidence interval (using the Fisher z-transformation)
The confidence interval is an estimate the range of the value of the correlation coefficient, using the correlation itself as an input. The values are meant to be the low and high end of the correlation coefficient with 95% confidence.
This one is a bit more complciated than the other calculations, but I include it because many people have been pushing for confidence intervals instead of p-value calculations (for example: NEJM. However, if you are dredging data, you can reliably find yourself in the 5%. That's my goal!
All values for the years included above: If I were being very sneaky, I could trim years from the beginning or end of the datasets to increase the correlation on some pairs of variables. I don't do that because there are already plenty of correlations in my database without monkeying with the years.
Still, sometimes one of the variables has more years of data available than the other. This page only shows the overlapping years. To see all the years, click on "See what else correlates with..." link above.

Why this works
- Data dredging: I have 25,153 variables in my database. I compare all these variables against each other to find ones that randomly match up. That's 632,673,409 correlation calculations! This is called “data dredging.” Instead of starting with a hypothesis and testing it, I instead abused the data to see what correlations shake out. It’s a dangerous way to go about analysis, because any sufficiently large dataset will yield strong correlations completely at random.
- Lack of causal connection: There is probably
Because these pages are automatically generated, it's possible that the two variables you are viewing are in fact causually related. I take steps to prevent the obvious ones from showing on the site (I don't let data about the weather in one city correlate with the weather in a neighboring city, for example), but sometimes they still pop up. If they are related, cool! You found a loophole.
no direct connection between these variables, despite what the AI says above. This is exacerbated by the fact that I used "Years" as the base variable. Lots of things happen in a year that are not related to each other! Most studies would use something like "one person" in stead of "one year" to be the "thing" studied. - Observations not independent: For many variables, sequential years are not independent of each other. If a population of people is continuously doing something every day, there is no reason to think they would suddenly change how they are doing that thing on January 1. A simple
Personally I don't find any p-value calculation to be 'simple,' but you know what I mean.
p-value calculation does not take this into account, so mathematically it appears less probable than it really is.
